The workplace should demonstrate the look and feel of a professional environment. In most cases there is a dress code to adhere to that meets the presentation the business wants to have. Some are formal such as a law firm with a suit & tie or dress, others can be in a uniform or business casual with a polo shirt and jeans. From a personal standpoint, it’s usually good to be as groomed as possible. This goes from your hair, nails and having good hygiene. This can vary in different types of industries but the general consensus is that you want to always make a positive impression in your appearance that fits the role and place you’re in.

The other aspect is beyond the physical look, it is also how you carry and conduct yourself. How you interact with co-workers, having a pleasant personality all factor in the impression you give off. Your body language and how you speak factors as well in regards to the perception others will have of you. While you may not be able to please everyone due to how people will judge in their own ways sometimes, you do want to make a sincere effort to be who you are that gives off positive vibes that makes it comfortable to engage with you.

Consistency is key in how you present yourself in all facets. The better you can deliver who you are in a good way, the greater level of respect and appreciation others will show you. Stay mindful of staying in compliance to assure the best working results.
